Mastering Your Mindset: Unleashing the Power of Positive Thinking

Regarding the power of positive thinking Earl Nightingale said it best, “you become what you think about most of the time”.

Your life is molded by how you think, the words you speak, and how you feel. The company you keep is a reflection of whether or not you’re on the right track. Are you surrounded by positive people or whiners and complainers? If the latter is true here is what you can do to change your trajectory.

Here are four things that I do daily to improve my thinking.

1.) Upon waking in the morning, because your mind is most open to receiving, feed your mind good, nutritious material. Read positive, inspirational, motivational books. Even if it's a page or reading for five minutes in the morning. It makes a difference. Put a book by the toilet to make sure it gets done.

2.) Listen to positive inspirational motivational speakers. I love Earl Nightingale’s The Strangest Secret, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, John Maxwell, Les Brown and my recent favorite Ed Mylett. His podcasts are now on Sirius Radio.

3.) Surround yourself with positive, like minded people. The way you’re going to attract those type of people is by thinking and speaking positively.

Have you ever been to a social gathering and there’s a person who is a whiner and complainer and before you know it he or she is surrounded by all the whiners and complainers. That’s the way it works, like attracts like. I try to stay away from those people. I want to surround myself with positive like minded people. You're going to know if you’re on the right track with your thoughts and words by the company you keep.

4.) Unplug from watching, listening and reading negativity on TV, radio and newspapers.

The benefits of positive thinking:

  1. Increases your lifespan

  2. Increases your immune response

  3. Lowers rate of depression

  4. Reduces risk of death from cardiovascular disease

The power of positive thinking is an incredible force that can transform your life in remarkable ways. Positive thinking not only influences your own well-being but also has a ripple effect, inspiring and uplifting those around you. So remember the incredible power you hold within your thoughts and choose positivity, for it is through this mindset that you can truly create a life filled with joy, success, and fulfillment.
