Hi, I’m Ed Cardinal and I’m the founder of The Cardinal Way for Men.

My mission is to help men go from isolation, unhealthy, and unsatisfied to creating connection and community, establishing vital health, and fulfilling their purpose.

Since we were boys - our parents, the media, movies, TV shows, and our educational systems have modeled what it means to be a man, and they were wrong.

The model of manhood that we were sold has been harmful to all of us, and to those we love. It’s an outdated model that’s been passed on for generations, and we are the ones who can break those generational chains to remake manhood into a vibrant, connected, and positive way of living in alignment with a better way.

“There's literally decades of research pointing to the fact that conformity to traditional masculinity is associated with poor health among men, high levels of suicidal thoughts and behavior, poor relationships and parenting, and involvements in violence against women and other men.” ~Michael Flood

As a Man:

  • Do you struggle with expressing authentic emotions or feelings due to fear of being ridiculed or thought of as weak?

  • Is it difficult for you to ask for help, support, or admit that you don’t have all the answers- in other words- is it hard to be vulnerable?

  • Do you neglect your self-care or wonder what that even means?

Before men discovered that there is an alternative they often express:

  • Frustration at work, home, with their health and in relationships with others.

  • Isolation and loneliness: Lack of friendships, mentors, guides, fellowship, camaraderie.

  • Fear of failure, intimacy, vulnerability, judgment, ridicule and change.

  • Disconnection & Isolation:  turning to food, alcohol, drugs, gambling and pornography to cope.

  • Overwhelmed by finances, anxiety, depression, responsibility, work

  • Cynicism about the future, life, relationships, women.

  • Resignation that this is just the way it is.

  • Rage towards yourself, family members, women, other men.

  • Carrying the hidden wounds of your personal, familial and cultural past.

  • This is the emotional, physical and spiritual price of conforming to modern-day manhood.

  • The longer men stay disconnected, the further they move from revealing their true purpose and potential.

  • It’s time to cut the cord between yourself and the limiting beliefs of modern day masculinity because there’s another way to live and thrive.

It’s time to redefine what it means to be a man in the 21st century, and I’m honored to be your guide.

More about me: Sometimes in our darkest hours you get clarity and realize that you need to make some changes. That's what happened with me when I was 26 years old, over 30 years ago. I was visiting my parents, and went out for a night of heavy drinking, as was the pattern for me on weekends. In the morning, I woke up in urine soaked sheets with a pile of vomit next to the bed, and not remembering how I got home. In that moment I felt disgusted, discouraged and disappointed. I realized I was spiritually, emotionally and physically bankrupt. It was in that instant I had an epiphany, a realization that I didn't want to live the rest of my life this way and that I would never realize my full potential on this trajectory. So I made a decision, the first step was to stop drinking, and I accepted 100% responsibility for my own well being. I also needed to break free of the shackles of my cultural conditioning. I created a holistic lifestyle, educating and transforming myself emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Over the last three decades I’ve incorporated Yoga, meditation, exercise, balanced nutrition, learned to express my emotions in a healthy way, a daily breath practice, surrounded myself with positive influences (people, books, Podcasts and audios), practice gratitude journalling, and connect with nature almost daily as part of my healing journey.

I’ve been leading health and wellness expert for men for over two decades sharing my knowledge, passion, and expertise with other men about holistic well-being and reinventing manhood.

Through Radio Talk Shows and Podcasts I’ve hosted countless conversations with leading professionals to help men live healthier, happier, more authentic lives, with purpose, passion, and meaning.
